Nature is a constant reminder of beauty, from the vibrant colors of the forest to the intricate patterns in every leaf and tree. I love creating beautiful things out of wood because it allows me to capture that natural beauty and turn it into something lasting. Working with wood maintains my connection to nature in a way that is both peaceful and inspiring. I am in absolute awe of every grain pattern, scar and knot in each piece I work with. I truly appreciate your purchase and hope your board brings lasting beauty to your home for years to come. Below are a few tips to help ensure it does!
Taking care of your board is easy, and with a little attention, it will stay looking gorgeous for years! Be sure to clean it before its first use and after every use going forward. Remember, regardless of what you are using it for, your board never goes in the dishwasher—hand washing is the way to go! Here’s how:
1. Fill a basin with hot water and dish soap, but DON’T submerge your board. Think of it as a refreshing sponge bath, not a soak!
2. Gently scrub away any food bits with a sponge or washcloth.
3. Rinse thoroughly to make sure all the soap is gone. Again, DO NOT submerge your board.
4. Let your board dry completely.
Cleaning your board after every use is key to keeping it in tip-top shape!
For a board that lasts, regular seasoning is a must! Here’s how to keep your board looking as beautiful as ever:
1. Always choose a food-safe oil—this keeps your board safe and nourished.
2. Dampen a soft, lint-free cloth (a microfiber towel works wonders!).
3. Pour a generous amount of oil onto the cloth, then rub it onto your board.
4. Buff the oil into the wood for that gorgeous shine! Brace yourself: this is when you fall in love with your board all over again.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the wood is nice and saturated.
6. Let the board absorb the oil for 2-4 hours to really soak it in.
7. Wipe away any excess oil with a second cloth or paper towel.
8. Do this once a month or whenever your board starts to feel a little dry.
With a bit of care, your board will stay stunning and ready for your next gathering!
